Antique Mission Style Entry Door w/ 10 Windows. Rare, antique, exterior door salvaged from an old home in Upstate, NY. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine, and is stained on both sides.
Today, "pine" is known as a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. The door has an uncommon, Arts & Crafts style arrangement of 9, true-divided windows. Hardware : The door is not equipped with any hardware.
Uneven Height : The height of the door was unevenly cut by 1/4. The cuts were most likely made to accommodate a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut the door to an even height/width, or cut it narrower/shorter, or even build it up to be wider/taller-- message us for a quote.Strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues.
Ost of the blemishes that it ha. S will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks". Glass is intact and in great condition with only subtle scratches.
Swing : The door is set up to swing into a home towards the left, or away from the home towards the right. We could modify the door to swing in the opposite direction. We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace glass with screen, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc.
