30"x94"x2 Antique French Door w/10 Windows. Tall, handsome, antique, French door salvaged from an old apartment building in Brooklyn, New York. The building was built around the turn of the previous century and this door was original to the building's construction.
There are 10, true-divided windows, with a combination of wooden panels and glass. The door is made of pine or Douglas fir and is completely painted. When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine.
We salvaged several similar doors from the same location, which had no paint on their glass lites. The last photo is of one of those doors and it gives you an idea of how this door will look with clear glass. While removing one of the painted panels from this door with the intention of replacing it with clear glass, the thought crossed my mind that we should just sell the door "as is" in case the customer actually wants a 10-panel door rather than a 10-lite door.
This will also keep the cost down and potentially attract more buyers--let's hope so! Please message us if you'd like a quote to replace the 10 panels with glass and specify what type of glass you'd like i.
