34"x75"x2 Antique 1854 Exteior Door w/6 Panels. Antique, exterior door salvaged from an 1854 home in Sterling, PA. Of solid Douglas fir or pine and is completely painted white.

Notice that the panels are raised on one side and recessed on the other--this is an uncommon feature. When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, and soft wood.

New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine.

Hardware : The door was mounted on an oak frame with thick, heavy-duty hinges. The last photo shows the hinges and also part of the frame with 4" long 1/4" thick square nails sticking out--amazing!

Although we salvaged the hardware, the locksets did not fair well over the years and were too corroded to restore. The door's height and width were unevenly cut by 1/4" - 1/2" at some point, most likely to compensate for an old warped floor or settling foundation. After the trim, someone added a triangular strip of wood to the top to even it's height to 74 7/8. Condition : Considering it's age, the door is in great shape!

The typical scrapes, scratches, small nail holes that you would expect to find on an old, used door. There is a small, deep scrape in one of the upper corners (see 2nd to last photo). No warp, rot, or other serious breaks or cracks.

Sanded for a new coat of paint, or stripped to refinish, most of the blemishes would be removed. What remains will be covered by paint or stain, and only appear a character mark. We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the doors to prepare any of them for you to repaint or refinish. Swing : The door is set up to swing inwardly towards the left or outwardly towards the right.

We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace glass with screen, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. 33 7/8 " - 3 4 1/8 " x 74 7/8 " x 1 7/8 ". Too tall, short, wide or narrow?
